Everyone’s personality is unique, and the same is true of YOUR body. Everyone’s personality is unique, and the same is true of YOUR body. Certain exercises work for certain people. Not all exercises are meant for all people. We tailor your exercise program to fit YOUR needs. Modifications are made for each exercise based on YOUR needs. Proper body mechanics are stressed during performance of each exercise. We focus on proper form instead of increasing resistance. Increased resistance occurs only after proper mechanics are taught. Everyone needs a coach to guide them. We are your coaches and guides.
Have shoulder pain but can’t figure out why? Struggling to get rid of that stubborn belly or flat butt? Could be due to the way you’re standing! Debbi and Allie at Body Resolution go through a series of movement exercises to see how you move and to locate the pain. Then they provide ways to improve it and explain, using modern tools(e.g. anatomy app), to show how one muscle’s weakness could be resulting in pain in another muscle or another part of the body.
Body Resolution isn’t like a gym because it is not a one size fits all. You aren’t doing the same workout as your brother in Texas. You’re doing a workout that is targeted to your body, so you can stop having pain or to help you lose that stubborn belly with minor changes. They look at how you stand, how you sit, what do you do while you’re walking. They check your alignment and if you favor one side over another. They look at how you twist, how you bend over, and how you hold your arms out. Then they explain why the way you stand affects your shoulder or gives you a belly. Or how sitting at a desk can be causing your tweaked or painful back. Or how your specific body is affected by certain things you do.
This might sound similar to physical therapy; however, Body Resolution isn’t like physical therapy, either. A physical therapist will go through that one area of discomfort and work that one area that needs help. The problem here is that the root cause is commonly elsewhere. A way to describe that is that the site of pain is not the source of the problem. Body Resolution takes a full body approach. By first taking an assessment of how you walk, stand, and move they are assessing how that painful area is being affected by the rest of the body. They use tools, such as a diagram of the body, to show how one muscle’s weakness is impacting another muscle somewhere else in the body. They use tactile, auditory, and visual tools to help people understand how their body works and how to get the best use of their body.
Since Body Resolution doesn’t fit in the exact category of being a gym or physical therapy, the best way to describe Body Resolution is that it is a medical fitness facility. We are trained to watch how you move, walk, sit, or just go through your day to determine the underlying cause of the pain or muscle weakness. Just by watching you, we can see how your daily activities are helping or hindering you. Give us a call today to see how we can help you!
Being at a gym is intimidating — big muscles lifting big, heavy weights. How do you know that you are exercising safely? You watch the other person do the exercise and assume that since they have large muscles and look good, they must be doing it right. WRONG! Watching and copying it leads to current or future injuries. We teach you how to move your body safely every day. So when you pick up the groceries, pick up your child, or stow your carry-on in the overhead compartment, you’ll do it right.
This is not a gym. We are part of the Medical Fitness Association, providing you with exercises that complement physical therapy and functional movement training. We are experienced in identifying and correcting functional movement patterns. We will tailor your exercise program to fit your needs while monitoring your body mechanics. We’ll teach you techniques to allow you to exercise effectively. It’s a non-intimidating environment that’s comfortable and encouraging.
We offer a comprehensive exercise program to strengthen your body, build core strength, build stamina, improve postural alignment and increase flexibility. Were you injured? You can still exercise. We design a customized program to prevent further injury and strengthen the weakened area.
Everyone has been injured at one point. Has your body compensated for a past injury or surgery, but you were unaware of it? We look for imbalances and compensations and then work toward creating more balance.
A stronger core leads to a more stable body. A more stable body allows proper movement through various activities, including rotational, vertical, and powerful activities. These movements are then applied to everyday activities including lifting groceries, lifting suitcases, loading and unloading the dishwasher, washing windows, mopping the floor, and so on. They are also applicable to activities such as golfing, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and dancing. Proper form starts with a good, strong core.
