I began training in 1993 and discovered I could help people become stronger and more flexible through exercise. In addition, I have worked in the field of physical therapy since 1994 and learned that I could lessen aches and pains through exercise. From these experiences, I know that many injuries can be prevented through proper body mechanics, correction of postural imbalance, and body awareness. I have a vision to help all postural imbalances and to see people lead pain-free, empowered lives. I have a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Physical Education with Sports Science Emphasis and a master’s degree from San Diego State University in Exercise Physiology. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Professional (TPI), TPI Power L2, TPI Golf Fitness L2, Functional Movement Screen Certified (FMS), a Certified Kinesio Taping® Practitioner (CKTP) through Kinesio Taping® Association International (KTAI), and a member of the Medical Fitness Association (MFA).
When I am not training clients, I spend my time with my husband, my two kids, bicycling, playing golf with friends, playing ukulele, riding a wakeboard, and shopping on Amazon.
I am a Tucson native and love everything about the desert. I graduated from Pima Medical Institute with a degree in Occupational Science, which allowed me to earn my certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in 2012. I have worked in outpatient orthopedic clinics in Tucson and in Phoenix. My experience in therapy has helped me realize how important it is for exercise to reflect our movement patterns in life, in order to prevent injury and improve function. In 2017, I earned my Certification in Applied Functional Science® (CAFS) from the Gray Institute, which helps me tailor exercises for individuals based on how they move. I am also a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner® (CKTP) through the Kinesio Taping® Association International (KTAI). My goal when working with clients is to train them how to move with purpose and get the most out of their exercises so they can translate their new strength and mobility to everyday use.
When I am not working with clients, I am camping or hiking with my young children and my husband.
